The nonlinear behavior was observed in the pure and hybrid composites subjected to the in-plane compressive force. For analyzing the compressive behavior of nonlinear composites, the compression process was simulated on these types of composites using finite element method. In the proposed simulation, a four-ply composite with the unidirectional stacking sequence was designed and compression test was executed on the composite model. In these models, the mechanical properties of composite layers were defined based on elastic and plastic behaviors. The Lamina and Isotropic classify were selected for the elastic and plastic zones, respectively. In order to validate the simulated model; the theoretical results of some nonlinear composites were compared with the experimental ones. It was concluded that the model acceptably predicts the compressive stress at different strain for nonlinear composites. As can be seen, the differences between numerical and experimental at maximum compressive stress of investigated specimens are 8% to 17%. To improve the numerical results and reach the real composite model, the applied assumptions have to be decreased or corrected.
