In the past decade, polylactic acid (PLA) nanofibers have attracted considerable attention due to their biodegradability, tunable properties, and wide range of applications in filtration and adsorption. However, electrospinning presents challenges because of its high-voltage requirement and limitations for industrial-scale production. In this study, the production of PLA nanofibers by the solution blow spinning (SBS) method was optimized, and the results were compared with those of electrospinning. To analyze the simultaneous effects of process parameters, a Box–Behnken experimental design with three factors—air pressure, feed rate, and polymer concentration—was employed, including 27 experimental runs, and the data were processed using Statistica 7.0 software. A chloroform/acetone solvent system in a 3:1 ratio was selected. The results showed that increasing the concentration to 7 wt% caused a rapid increase in viscosity. Surface tension increased from approximately 26 to 34 mN/m. The effect of feed rate on nanofiber diameter showed that increasing the feed rate increased the diameter from 250 to 350 nm. In addition, increasing the air pressure from 0.2 to 0.3 MPa reduced the diameter from about 300 to 200 nm. Concentrations of 4, 6, and 8 wt% were examined as key cases. Finally, the advantages and limitations of SBS relative to electrospinning were summarized.
