This paper reports the preparation and characterization of functional core-shell composite nanofibers obtained by coaxial electrospinning of polyurethane (PU) as the core and chitosan or poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) as the shell. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs confirmed the formation of core-shell nanofibers. The functional groups of the polymers were identified by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra. The crystalline structure and thermal behavior of the core-shell nanofibers were detected by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively.
