Abstract

Sleeping bag is one of the self-protection equipment that is used in open environment for sleeping and rest. One of the applications of sleeping bags is protection of body against sever loss of its temperature in cold weather conditions that is usually important for mountain climbers, military forces and …. Because of the contact of sleeping bag with the ground, which can be very cold in some regions and also due to the pressure applied by body on the sleeping bag, the thickness of it reduces which leads to ease of body heat loss. Thus, the preserve of thermal insulation property of sleeping bag under body pressure is important for the prevention of temperature diminishes and the feeling of coldness. In this study, the effect of influencing factors in the design of sleeping bags with regard to the improvement of its thermal insulation properties are investigated. The results of this research cleared that the impact of the sleeping bag’s weight, the type of waddings and the distance between the seamed rows on the thermal efficiency of the sleeping bag during use, is significant.
