Abstract

Nowadays, the art of garment design and fashion have gained great importance due to many applications in various aspects of human life. With such great concern on clothing styles and rapid growth in on-line shopping the development in high speed designing systems is facilitated by specific computer softwares invented to meet markets' increasing demand to improve model designs at different sizes. In this study a system is presented that uses interactive genetic algorithm garment designed patterns with their other separately generated pattern components, including the collar, sleeves, skirt, belt, pocket, button, to obtain fitness values for adjustment with the produced patterns initially designed by Similarity principles. The results show a highly capable system which facilitates model design productions to the ultimate satisfaction of the designers.
